Join Strong Girls United for a sports nutrition night for high school female athletes with RDN, CSSD Briana Bruinooge! This workshop is designed specifically for high school girls who want to understand their bodies, fuel confidently, and support long-term athletic health. We’ll dive into the unique nutrition needs of female athletes, including menstrual cycle considerations, iron needs, and the critical role of adequate fueling.
Topics include:
• How much female athletes actually need to eat (spoiler: it’s more than they think!)
• Supporting the menstrual cycle through nutrition and why a regular period is a key performance indicator
• Red flags and risks of REDs (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport)
• How under-fueling impacts performance, mood, bone health, and injury risk
• Simple, practical fueling strategies for school, training, and recovery
• Building confidence around food, body image, and performance
Girls will leave with tools to better understand their bodies and support their performance, and parents will receive a handout to help reinforce healthy, informed habits at home.
*This event is generously sponsored by Strong Girls United and is free to register. Voluntary donations will be accepted at the door to support ongoing programming and ensure continued access for all girls.
